About WKAX
WKAX transmits 1000 watts on 1500 KHz in AM from Russellville, Alabama between sunrise and sunset each day.  Our studios are located at 113 Washington Avenue in beautiful historic downtown Russellville.

WKAX has served Russellville and the surrounding tri-state area with southern gospel programming for many years.

Our Staff
John Pilati, Station Manager
John is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in news journalism. He also holds a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. John is the long-time voice of many area sporting events, including Russellville football, Phil Campbell football, public address announcing at a variety of community events, and he serves as the emcee each year at the Franklin County Watermelon Festival. His broadcasting experience includes P.A. announcing at the University of North Alabama, the Alabama Junior College Basketball Championships and the Alabama High School Athletic Association State Football and Basketball playoffs.
Coverage Areas
WKAX provides coverage in parts of Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.  Its signal is strongest within the red circle, including Russellville, Littleville, and Phil Campbell.  Its signal is also strong within the orange circle including The Shoals, Red Bay, Moulton, Haleyville, Hackleburg, among others. Fringe reception areas are within the green circle and include Iuka, Belmont, Hamilton, Double Springs, Loretto, and parts of Decatur.
